So far, there are more questions than answers.
Azerbaijani experts have tried to assess the extent to which the first Russian export strike drone “Orion-E”, which in the media is considered a “killer” of “Bayraktar”, is actually able to promote the famous Turkish arms market unmanned aerial vehicles, which decided the outcome of the war in Karabakh.

“The Orion-E strike variant is equipped with a universal complex of air weapons, which allows with high efficiency to destroy stationary and moving ground targets, armored vehicles and transport of the enemy, its manpower,” Azerbaijani edition of “Mirror” He emphasizes that the drone is equipped with both unguided and guided bombs, as well as various guided missiles.
In the Russian Armed Forces, the drone is supplied under the name “Stimulation”. However, it can fly all day.
These drones have already been tested by the Russian army in Syria, and it is said that one of the vehicles made 38 combat flights, including 17 – with strikes on terrorist targets.
Azad Isa-zadeh, an employee of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, noted that the parameters of Orion declared by Russia are slightly the same as those of Bayraktar: in some they are better, in some lower.
At the same time, Azerbaijani experts note that the term “Bayraktar killer” refers to “Orions” only in the field of competition in the arms market, because this drug is not intended to fight other drones.
At the same time, the improved Bayraktar – drone has already been released in Turkey “Akinchy” and is now in the commissioning phase of another model – for work at sea.
Western countries also intend to strengthen their development in the UAV field, so there will be serious competition in the market.
Azerbaijani experts also emphasize that the experience with the use of the Orions in Syria cannot be described as complete, because Russian drones were not opposed to enemy air defense systems.
“And if Orion is used in real combat or in another study of good maneuvers, it will be possible to say clearly how effective and modern it is,” emphasizes the author of the article, noting that there are still more questions than answers about Russian drones.
