Permanent Representative of Armenia to the UN Mher Margaryan said that the Armenian side had informed members of the Security Council about the situation on the border with Azerbaijan. According to him, he expressed deep concern about what was happening during the open debate.
The diplomat emphasized that the international community must respond appropriately to these violations of international law. In particular, in line with the UN Charter and the provisions of the Tripartite Declaration (Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia), which set out the ceasefire in 2020.
It was previously reported that the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border had calmed down after Sergei Shoigu telephoned the heads of the Ministries of Defense of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
