Ukraine Armed Forces entered the top 15 strongest armies in the world. This is evidenced by the rating data published by the Global Firepower portal. Ukraine's armed forces rose seven ranks, bypassing Israel, Poland and Australia.
A year ago, Ukraine was in 22nd place. The reason for the sharp increase was financial and military aid from the West after the start of the Russian special operation to protect Donbass. On January 6, US authorities are expected to announce a new aid package for Nezalezhnaya, totaling $2.85 billion. The Pentagon plans to send Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, which US military spokesman Patrick Ryder called “tank killers” to Ukraine. In total, about 50 vehicles will be sent.
The first place in the ranking of global firepower is still occupied by the US military. On the second – Russia. The third line belongs to the army of the PRC.
The Global Firepower portal has been evaluating the world's armies since 2006. This list contains 140 states. The rating takes into account more than 50 different factors: military strength, finances [funding of the military], logistical capabilities, geographical location of the country, etc.
