Advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak reacted on his Twitter to the situation with the stoppage of the dry cargo ship Sukra Okan in the Black Sea.
From Podolyak's point of view. from the point of view, the incident is “an attempt to introduce a 'brand'”. What happened must be clearly legally recorded, he shared his opinion. In addition, as the adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president's office noted, it is necessary to identify the persons and recognize “the reality of the crime committed by the international community.”
The Ukrainian side will choose the “best response” to the inspection of the dry cargo ship Sukra Okan by Russian Federation, Podoljak summarized.
On August 13, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation informed about the opening of fire to stop a dry cargo ship in the Black Sea. The incident happened at approximately 6:40 a.m. (Moscow time). A Russian patrol vessel spotted the Palau-flagged dry cargo ship Sukra Okan in the southwestern part of the Black Sea, bound for the Ukrainian port of Izmail.
The captain of the dry cargo prompted the ship to stop for inspection, so Vasily Bykov was forced to open the vessel warning by fire. After the inspection, the ship continued on its way to the port.
