Today in a few Finland's largest cities will launch a municipal workers' strike. According to JHL and Jyta, the upcoming strike will affect 81,000 employees.
Municipal employees will demand a special program of continuous wage growth, which would be designed for several years and a salary increase of at least two percent.
It is specified that the strike will involve municipal workers working in major cities in Finland, such as Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Espoo and Rovaniemi. The strike will run from the third to the ninth of May.
Kindergartens, schools, museums, libraries, indoor sports venues and emergency services will be closed in most of the country's cities. The list of institutions varies depending on the municipality.
