Indian state of Bihar the candidate who died two weeks before the vote won the local election. The death of the newly elected member of the council was known only after he did not attend the mandate. The Indian television channel NDTV reports this.
Members of the election commission asked relatives Sohan Murmu to find politics. And then it turned out that the winner of the election had died on November 6, and his death was decided not to be intentionally informed.
The fact is that winning the election was Murmu's last wish. Relatives decided to give the deceased such a “chance”. The villagers were obviously aware of what was happening and supported the deceased villager. The candidate defeated the opponent by 28 votes.
Now the state authorities are asking the country's CEC to cancel the election and set a new voting date.
