Former Belgazprombank Chairman Viktor Babariko sentenced for 14 years in prison in Belarus. The verdict was announced by the highest court of the country, states Belta.
On June 28, the former Belarusian presidential candidate delivered the last speech in court. He stated in it that he could not confess to a crime he did not commit.
Babariko is accused of accepting bribes and legalizing income on a particularly large scale. He was threatened with up to 15 years in prison.
