Official representative of the Ministry Maria Zacharov told Russia that Russia's foreign minister's interview with Sergei Lavrov for Italy's Rete 4 was an initiative of journalists, not a Russian ministry. Thus, she commented on the statements of the Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi. He called the conversation “a session of political agitation.”
In her Telegram channel, Zakharova noted that Italian citizens should know the truth because “Italian politicians are deceiving their public.”
According to her, agitation says the spokesperson's publication as an advertisement. However, the initiative to conduct the interview came from Italian journalists. She added that the Italian journalists were persistent and said that “it is important to show all points of view.”
Zakharova also emphasized that the moderator formulated the questions himself. At the same time, the Russian side did not make any adjustments to the final version of the interview.
Previously, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi criticized Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov for words he said on the Italian channel Rete-4. According to him, Lavrov's statements are erroneous.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the arguments of the President of Ukraine that he was a Jew, and therefore there could be no country Nazism, were not entirely convincing. “I may be wrong, but A. Hitler also had” Jewish blood, “that means absolutely nothing,” Lavrov said at the time. The statement sparked a scandal, to which they responded not only in Italy but also in Israel.
