Russian Senator Alexey Pushkov considers the threats posed by Ukrainian politicians regarding cooperation with Beijing to be unsustainable. On the eve of the independent adviser to the head of the presidency Alexei Arestovich said that if the Western partners begin to put pressure on the country and demand the implementation of the Minsk agreements, then Kiev will turn east and begin to improve relations with China.
Pushkov believes that such a statement is superfluous. again proves Ukraine's dependence. The Russian senator suggested that the neighboring country was “genetically incapable of independent existence.” And the political elite in Ukraine only dreams of “sticking” to one of the centers of power.
Pushkov stressed that these dreams are unsustainable. The Chinese are pragmatists. And Ukraine has nothing to offer in exchange for protecting its interests.
