In the Russian Federation 398 members of the US Congress were blacklisted. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation informed about it.
Sanctions against US congressmen were introduced in response to Western sanctions against Russian companies, institutions and individuals. In accordance with US law, the US House of Representatives has 435 members, and another 100 people sit in the US Senate.
Earlier, sanctions against Russian lawmakers began to be imposed in the United States and the United States. The European Union and the sanctions lists included hundreds of people who voted in favor of the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republic, a special military operation of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine.
