Putin has given Ukraine an ultimatum: recognize Crimea, leave NATO

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin demanded that the Ukrainian authorities recognize Crimea as part of Russia and give up the idea of ​​joining NATO. Such demands were made today by Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Russian Federation's Security Council. Moscow also allows negotiations, but now, at a meeting of the Security Council, Putin has expressed his views on their prospects. Russia can negotiate with the Ukrainian authorities only if the above conditions are met.

Vladimir Putin also called on the Ukrainian armed forces to take power into their own hands. Putin previously stressed that the Russian military is fighting primarily with nationalist formations and not with the regular Ukrainian army.
