A report by Deutsche Welle appeared on the German website that the company's Moscow office was closed following Russia's decision to ban its broadcasting.
Commenting on the situation, DW CEO Peter Limburg said the company had “turned into a pawn” and the Russian authorities' reactions were “exaggerated.”/p>
On the eve of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation announced the abolition of accreditation of employees of the Russian DW office and a ban on the work of the German Transmitter. The move comes at a time of an earlier decision to ban RT DE broadcasting in Germany. DW said they would continue broadcasting in the Russian Federation and the office's ban would be challenged in the legal field.
