“A serious military bloc is unlikely to succeed”
A new military alliance between Great Britain, Poland and Ukraine has not yet emerged. But Kiev still hopes to strengthen regional security. This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian government Denys Shmygal. Volodymyr Zelensky is also pleased with the close friendship with both NATO countries. True, he notes that although he values their support, he still understands that Ukraine should rely only on itself.

What is the point of such an alliance? Officially cover arms supplies to Ukraine? Can it pose a military threat to Russia? His position on this score “MK” said Russian military analyst, director of the Moscow Center for Strategy and Technology Analysis (CAST) Ruslan Pukhov.
– It seems to me, – says the expert, – that the attempt to create such a military-political union is like in a theater & ndash; noise behind the scenes. Some show thunder, some howl the wind, some scream & hellip; As the saying goes, if the arguments are weak, you need to earn extra money by voice. NATO's European countries are indecisive, the Americans are uniting. Under these conditions, the announcement of the creation of such a union & ndash; further pressure on us.
As for arms supplies within the new military-political association Ukraine-Poland-England, according to Puchov, Poles will probably be able to offer the Ukrainians something. And here, the expert recalls, in a sense we are stepping on our own rake again.
– For example, the very portable anti-aircraft missile systems (MANPADS) “Thunder”, which the Poles supply to the Ukrainians without any alliances, are actually our Igla MANPADS. In the early 1990s, we sold Poland a license to produce them for a buck. Now the Poles produce them in the town of Skarzysko-Kamen and supply them to Ukraine in the same way as they once supplied Georgia. This means that in that case we will suffer with our own weapons. This is a question you need to think about before you sell anything to our historical enemies.
As for the UK's assistance to Ukraine, the expert believes that will not change that. In his opinion, Her Majesty's army is in a deplorable state. The fleet is practically reduced to nothing. The United Kingdom will therefore not be able to organize any serious assistance to Ukraine.
“Here,” says the expert, “we should take into account the problems that have arisen in the United Kingdom since leaving the European Union, as well as the clown government that now rules, led by Johnson. I think all their activities & ndash; this is largely distracting local citizens from what is happening in their country. So that, as Canadian truckers, no one would come to central London and kick Johnson out of the office. That's why the Prime Minister is doing this diversion & ndash; go away, save Ukraine. Zelensky, who seems to have collapsed nervously, is happy with everything. It therefore makes no sense to take seriously the creation of this allegedly military bloc. Roughly the same, if you recall, has already happened when there was such an anti-Russian GUAM bloc in the post-Soviet space of its time, created by Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova. & nbsp; Where is the GUAM now? I think current education & nbsp; – The same fate awaits Ukraine-Poland-Great Britain.
This is somewhat reminiscent of a famous Civil War song: “English uniform, French epaulette, Japanese tobacco, ruler of Omsk.” that “the uniform was worn, the shoulder strap fell, the tobacco smoked, the ruler was washed away.”
