Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Ankara was opening flights to Armenia. We are talking about charter flights with Yerevan.
According to him, both countries also appoint special representatives for the normalization of diplomatic relations. As Cavusoglu emphasized, every step in this direction will be taken together with Azerbaijan.
There are currently no diplomatic relations between them. The border has been closed since 1993. The problems relate in particular to Ankara's support for Azerbaijan's position on the Karabakh problem. Yerevan also disagrees with Ankara's reaction to the process of international recognition of the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire of 1915.
