A version about the collision with a foreign submarine was considered, among other things, and found no confirmation. And according to the version announced by the commission, there were facts that confirmed this, & # 39; & # 39; said the admiral of the fleet and commented on the words of the former commander of the Northern Fleet, Admiral Vyacheslav Popov, about a certain foreign submarine that collided with Kursk.
On August 12, 2000, the Kursk nuclear submarine sank in the Barents Sea, 175 kilometers from the North Sea, at a depth of 108 meters. The government commission to investigate the causes of Kursk's death worked for almost 2 years. During the investigation, the explosion-damaged Kursk department was lifted to the surface. The commission acknowledged that Kursk had died as a result of a “torpedo fuel explosion” 65-76PV. This explosion caused a detonation.
