Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov said the scandal surrounding State Duma member Valery Rashkin is the party's revenge for gaining many votes in the recent parliamentary elections.

Zjuganov remarked that he was interested in the truth. According to him, Rashkin was invited to hunt with friends, and not for the first time. The politician believes that every time the company had a hunting ticket.
Zjuganov also stressed that he did not see the need to waive Rashkin's immunity because he was not hiding and ready to testify.

The Prosecutor General's Office has previously approached the State Duma with a request to waive the parliamentary immunity of Valery Rashkin, who is suspected of illegal hunting. The deputy was detained with an elk carcass in the Saratov region at the end of October. The matter will be discussed next week.
The Member himself recorded a video report in which he confessed to killing the animal. According to him, he went hunting at the suggestion of friends and was sure that he had all the necessary permissions.
