New defense by the Minister Of Ukraine was appointed Alexei Reznikov. The decision was made by the Ukrainian parliament on the proposal of President Volodymyr Zelenský.
Reznikov's appointment was supported by 273 deputies, who needed to collect at least 226 votes.
From March 2020, he served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories. Reznikov was also a representative of Kiev in the political subgroup of the Donbas Contact Group.
Recall that the day before, five ministers were removed from the Verkhovna Rada, including the Minister of Defense, the Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories and the Minister for the Economy.
