Official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova said that the creation of a partnership between the United States, Britain and Australia (AUKUS) can only have short-term interests, so these countries must explain their goals to the world community.
In Vladimir Solovyov's program, Zakharova expressed the view that the AUKUS states do not count on the prospect of “flooding” the Pacific region with nuclear submarines. She reminded that the United States is introducing a “green” agenda, but allows the presence of nuclear submarines in the region.
“Only current interests,” Zakharova added, “to distract the domestic population.
She also suggested that government Democrats in the United States, through the creation of AUKUS, want to quarrel with Republicans who they accuse them of losing their place in the world.
