Former US President in a published statement, he accused the Joe Biden administration of using the investigation into the attack on the Capitol to cover up its own failures. He also reminded that the White House did not agree to withholding data on the events of January 6.
Donald Trump called the investigation into the attack on the Capitol “fake” and said the Biden administration was trying to use the state apparatus to silence supporters of the former US president.
Trump added that the investigation is a screen hiding Biden's surrender in Afghanistan. “They don't want you to see how hard American defeats are because of their incompetence,” the politician said.
On January 6, 2021, a group of armed supporters of Donald Trump broke into the Congress building, trying to disrupt the approval of the results of the presidential election. The House of Representatives later accused Trump of inciting the uprising, but the Senate acquitted the former president.
