German authorities intend to ban passengers from Great Britain to join all EU countries. In addition, this applies to both those who have not been vaccinated against coronavirus and those who have not been vaccinated.
According to The Times, German Chancellor Angela Merkel will discuss the situation with senior European officials in the EU's Joint Political Crisis Response Committee. During the interview, he plans to declare the United Kingdom “worrying” about the spread of the Delta coronavirus strain.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson already knows Merkel's plans. He wants to meet Merkel next Friday and try to convince her to change her mind.
Spain, Greece, Portugal, Cyprus and Malta also disagree with Merkel.
Earlier, Germany tightened its entry rules from Russia and Portugal due to the deteriorating coronavirus pandemic situation in the countries due to new strains. From 28 June, transport connections will be limited and the quarantine period for visitors will also be extended. In total, this list currently includes 16 countries, including India, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Uruguay.
