Erdogan offered Putin the construction of two more nuclear power plants in Turkey

Russia can build Turkey has two other nuclear power plants, in addition to the already under construction Akkuyu nuclear power plant. The proposal was expressed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi, says Kommersant.

We are talking about the nuclear power plants in Sinop and Ignead on the Black Sea coast. Projects for the construction of local power plants are quite old, previously claimed by investors from Japan and France.

Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed to reporters that the presidents were talking about two new nuclear power plants. Rosatom noted that they were ready to discuss the projects.

“We are always open to discussing opportunities that will expand our cooperation with Turkish partners,” said the state corporation.

She added what the development of the Akkuyu NPP project can use in the following projects.
