President of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said YouTube's ban on criticizing elections in the United States and Germany alone was discriminatory. In his opinion, the influence of IT companies on the course of election campaigns in the countries should be discussed in the PACE and the UN.

Volodin does not understand why PACE does not ask this question. He noted that the list of countries “whose affairs cannot be interfered with” does not include France, Great Britain, Italy or any other European state except Germany. “ In addition, this issue must be discussed at the UN, & # 39; & # 39; says a spokesman for the lower house of the Russian parliament.

He added that the rules on non-interference in the elections of sovereign states should be mandatory for all international IT companies and “spread to all countries”.

In his telegram channel, he wrote that there are “double standards and, in fact, striking ignoring of all other states, their national legislation. “

According to Volodin, such behavior in relation to Russia and its citizens is unacceptable. As a result, he called on the Duma Security Committee and the Commission to investigate the facts of foreign interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation, to study the situation and to ask relevant questions to the video hosting representatives.

On September 28, RT announced that hosting a video on YouTube removed two German TV accounts – RT DE and Der Fehlende Part (DFP). RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan then called on Russian lawmakers to tighten penalties for IT giants for censoring domestic media.
