Press service Ministry of Labor sent out a statement explaining why the government had rejected the Liberal Democratic Party's bill on indexing the pensions of working pensioners.
The bill was submitted to the State Duma by a group of deputies and Senator Sergei Leonov. The government said that returning the indexation of pensions to working retirees would require additional funds from the federal budget, but deputies did not state in the financial and economic justification of the document from which sources these funds should be allocated.

“The government's response to the Liberal Democratic Party's draft law does not concern the idea of indexing pensions for workers as such, but a specific bill,” the ministry said in a statement.
