Former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has not been included in the updated board of US technology company OpenAI, despite her candidacy being considered. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing its own sources.

The reasons why Rice was rejected were not given. Other candidates were proposed: the widow of Apple founder Steve Jobs, Lauren Powell Jobs (the widow of Apple founder Steve Jobs, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. However, they too could not join the board due to “close ties” with those previously fired, and later the chief returned OpenAI Sam Altman.

Bloomberg also writes that the new board “should reflect greater diversity,” so women were included in the list of candidates.

The company is currently being run by an interim board. They will have to approve the persons who will become the permanent leaders of the company.

Sam Altman confirmed his return as CEO of OpenAI the day before, on November 22. He wrote on his social networks that he loves the corporation and his actions in the last few days have been focused on preserving the team and its mission.
