Former DLR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov, who was arrested in July on charges of extremism, called on his supporters from pre-trial detention to create a headquarters for his nomination for the presidency of Russia.
Strelkov's associate Oleg Nelzin read at the meeting of the “Russian Movement for Strelkov” the dismissal of the former Minister of Defense of the DLR.
Strelkov asked his supporters to create an initiative group that would collect signatures for his nomination for the President of the Russian Federation.
Let us remind you that the Federation Council must approve the date of the December presidential elections. It is expected to be March 17, 2024. According to Russian law, Strelkov has the right to run for president, his status as an accused in a criminal case is not affected in any way, but if he is convicted before the elections, he will not be able to participate in the election campaign.
