The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs is to include him in the wanted list of the former deputy finance minister of Russia, foreign agent Sergei Aleksashenko*, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the ministry's search database.

Aleksashenko* held this position from May 1993 to March 1995. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he is outside Russia federation.

The report states that the basis for the search for Aleksashenko* is one of the articles of the Criminal Code of Russia. Since June 16, Aleksashenko* has been included in the register of foreign agents in connection with spreading false information about Russia, as well as participating in public events organized by foreign agents and foreign media.

It. it was also reported that Aleksashenko* was involved in the preparation of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Previously, the chairman of the State Duma Commission for Investigating the Facts of Foreign States' Interference in Russia's Internal Affairs, Vasiliy Piskarev, asked the Russian Prosecutor General's Office to take measures in connections with Aleksashenko's anti-Russian activities*. Piskarev said that the activities of Aleksashenko* and other Russians may show signs of crimes under the articles “Calls to impose restrictive measures against the Russian Federation” and “High treason”.
