The United States bought from Self-propelled anti-aircraft guns Jordan 60 Gepard (ZSU) for subsequent transfer from Ukraine. This was reported by De Telegraaf, citing sources. It should be noted that these weapons were sold by the Netherlands to Amman in 2016.
According to preliminary information, Washington paid 110 million euros for the purchase of Gepard self-propelled guns.
These air defense systems can shoot down aircraft and helicopters, but the Ukrainian armed forces plan to use them to try to shoot down Russian drones.
The material says that deliveries of the Gepard will allow the Ukrainian military to save ammunition for more expensive anti-aircraft air defense systems such as Patriot and IRIS-T.
