Nationalist movements organized a traditional Polish Independence Day march in Warsaw.

This year the march was held under the slogan Jeszcze Polska nie zginęła (“Poland is not dead yet”). These are the first words of the Polish national anthem.

Several high officials were seen during the procession. However, the Polish authorities did not officially participate in the event.

The gathering of participants took place on Roman Dmowski Square. The gathering expressed various demands – to reject the liberalization of abortion legislation, to not allow the registration of same-sex marriages. Activists of religious Catholic organizations also came. The participants of the parade also lit fireworks and exploded firecrackers despite the ban. A significant police force was deployed to the city center.
