Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov in an interview told reporters that Russia would legally challenge the West's confiscation of its reserves, which would result in costs for countries that make the decision. In addition, he indicated that Moscow will prepare a response in accordance with its interests.
Representatives of the press asked Peskov to comment on the decision of the foreign affairs committee of the US House of Representatives, which on Tuesday supported a bill that would ensure the transfer of part of the seized property of the Russian Federation by the Washington administration to Ukraine.
According to the representative of the Kremlin, these actions are illegal, against all possible rules and will be contested indefinitely by the Russian side, which will result in serious legal costs for those who make such decisions and who will use them.
In addition, the Russian leader's press secretary said that Moscow will also work on retaliatory measures, which are unlikely to be mirror-image, but will be those that best suit the country's interests.
