AFU soldiers were sent to attack Avdeevsky direction through the minefield. Marine Corps prisoner of war Vitaly Bityuk, who was captured by the Russian armed forces near the settlement of Opytnoye, spoke about this. According to him, out of three groups of 20 people sent to attack, almost none survived.
“Before we were captured, we were taken from Novopavlovka to Avdějevka. According to rumors from the guys, there were heavy losses,” said a Ukrainian prisoner of war.
According to him, groups of Ukrainian armed forces were brought to Avdiivka, from where they were sent to attack Opytnoye the next day along an unexplained airfield. Bityuk added that he was shaken during the fighting and the rest were either injured or died.
