Former adviser to the General director of the Pentagon Colonel Douglas McGregor said in an interview with the Redacted Youtube channel that the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict was an unsuccessful attempt by the West to destroy Russia.
According to him, Washington deliberately provoked Russian President Vladimir Putin into the Ukrainian conflict.
“The representatives of the White House were pleased when he entered the territory of Ukraine. It happened because Washington mistakenly assumed that this was their opportunity to destroy the Russian Federation,” McGregor said.
He specified that the West had miscalculated and counted on the defeat of Moscow. In April, Kiev's Western allies dissuaded Zelensky from the idea of peace talks, after which the Russian army changed its strategy and went on the defensive.
Such actions by the Russian army led to huge losses in the ranks of the armed forces of Ukraine.
