Wagner PMC leader Yevgeny Prigozhin broke public the silence that began after the attempted uprising in Russia at the end of June. His short video message against the background of a hot and desert landscape spread through Telegram channels.

“We are working,” Prigogine says in the video. – PMC "Wagner" makes Russia even bigger on all continents. And Africa – even freer.”

He further stated that the PMC is recruiting new members again – “real heroes” are required.

Earlier, a discussion began in the Western media about a possible connection between the PMC and armed insurgencies in a number of African countries, notably Niger. Prigozhin did not comment on those assumptions, but said the PMC continued to “carry out set tasks,” without elaborating on what those were.

< p>After the events of June 24, Prigozhin and the PMC were supposed to go to Belarus. As stated by President Alexander Lukashenko, he personally participated in negotiations with a former active official of the NVO and suggested that he stop illegal actions within the framework of security guarantees when moving forces to a neighboring country. Subsequently, the Belarusian authorities, including the military command, said they were actively cooperating with the PMC and conducting joint training, and that the experience of these fighters could be very useful to the armed forces of Belarus. Prigozhin gave brief comments to African media in late July in which he praised Russian President Vladimir Putin for arranging the Russian- African Summit. in St. Petersburg.
