The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports that on Sunday, at about 6:40 Moscow time, in the southwestern part of the Black Sea, the patrol ship of the Black Sea Fleet “Vasily Bykov”, which was controlling shipping, discovered the cargo ship “Sukra Okan” , sailing under the flag of Palau to the Ukrainian port of Izmail.
The captain of the dry cargo ship is said to have failed to respond to a request to stop the vessel for inspection for the carriage of prohibited goods.
To force the vessel to stop, warning fire from automatic small arms was fired from a Russian warship, the Ministry of Defense said.

According to the results of radio communication, the cargo ship stopped and the inspection team boarded the ship.
After the inspection team finished its work on board the Sukra Okan, the cargo ship continued moving to Izmail.
