The material says that Tokyo wants to learn more about the characteristics of the fighter, especially the Japanese are interested in maneuverability, fuel consumption, range, ways to keep the aircraft in operation and the time needed to prepare it for flight. .
Japanese specialists will also study the radar signatures of the Su-30 during various angles of attack. At the same time, Japanese pilots will be allowed to fly fighters at least as passengers.
The portal states that the Su-30, on the basis of which the export model of the Su-30MKI was created, is in service not only with Russia, but also with a long-term Japanese adversary China.
According to the authors, understanding the design of this aircraft is much more important for Tokyo than the air cooperation that Japan and India have been carrying out since 2018.
China now has about a hundred Su-30s in operation, which are often used near the Japanese islands. There are more than 270 of these machines in India, and many of them have been manufactured under license in the country itself.
