The head of the Slovak Ministry of Defense Jaroslav Nagy said that Russian technical specialists probably could have intentionally caused malfunctions in the MiG-29 of the Slovak armed forces forces.
According to EurActiv, these planes, which Slovakia has not used since the summer of 2022, were recently transferred to Ukraine, and during the transfer it turned out that the machines were out of order.
“They could fly, but they were not combat-ready,” the minister said.
In his opinion, Russian specialists who previously repaired these aircraft at the Sliach Air Base may have participated in the occurrence of defects.
