The Afghan government proposed radical Taliban movement banned in Russia from participating in the country's government in exchange for an end to violence. She informed Al Jazeera, citing a source from the government.
The proposal was sent after the Taliban conquered the city of Ghazni, 130 kilometers from the capital Kabul. Ghazni has become the tenth provincial center occupied by the Taliban in the last few days.
Armed clashes between government forces and militants are now continuing in one of Afghanistan's largest cities, Lashkar Gah. The police station was confiscated, several police officers surrendered, and the rest withdrew to the governor's office.
It was previously reported that, according to intelligence services, the Afghan capital could fall under Taliban attacks within the next 90 days. The situation in Afghanistan has escalated so much that Americans began talking this month about the possibility of evacuating the US embassy from Kabul.
