Military expert Yuriy Knutov expressed his opinion on what Russia could do to deter the movement of Ukrainian troops to the east and south of the special operation zone.
According to the expert, Ukrainian troops were inspired by what they ordered a counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, despite huge losses. Therefore, Russia now has to react hard in the form of strikes on logistics centers, Knutov expressed his opinion in an interview with Izvestia.
The priority, according to him, should be the destruction of bridges, railway stations and enterprises that produce military and civilian products.
“Ukraine's economy should be paralyzed and, above all, transport and energy should be paralyzed,” Knutov said, adding that this would help limit the transfer of Ukrainian troops and at the same time warn Kyiv against the inadmissibility of shelling Russian territory.

He also urged to preemptively respond to the possibility of the West providing Kiev with ATACMS missiles for HIMARS installations, which have a longer range than the missiles currently in use.
“In this case, we must use experience of Israel, which always works proactively”, – Knutov.
