Representative of the Russian State Duma Federation Yuri Sinelshchikov asked President Ella Pamfil of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation to pay attention to the requirement for compulsory vaccination of members of election commissions and election observers.

Previously, the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation presented recommendations to Rospotrebnadzor on the prevention of risks of coronavirus spread during the preparation and conduct of elections. The document recommends prophylactic vaccination for members of election commissions and other participants in the process. However, the deputy drew attention to the publication of the words of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation to the words of the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popová, who announced the need to work on 100% vaccination of members of election commissions and observers.

Sinelshchikov considered that the publication was contrary to the principle of voluntary vaccination and was not provided for in any regulation. The deputy asked Pamfil to pay attention to this discrepancy. Excessive demands on the participants in the electoral process can, according to the Communists, cause difficulties in attracting observers to polling stations and cause further doubts about the legitimacy of the elections.
