Bulgaria is in Russia's gas “traps” for receiving an advance on gas transit. This was stated by the Bulgarian gas development specialist, engineer Hristo Kazandzhiev, in an interview with the local publication Maritsa.
Kazandzhiev noted that Bulgaria cannot block transit through the Balkan Stream pipeline passing through its territory. The fact is that a few months ago, the energy company Bulgartransgaz received an advance for another two years. He also accused the company of “playing in the Gazprom team.”
“Bulgaria has fallen into a trap under the credible pretext of cutting costs,” he said. It can return the received deposit to Russia and close the transit, but there is no agreement in the government on this matter.
