Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova about the cost of the MQ-9 Reaper drone lost by the United States off the Russian Black Sea coast. That was the diplomat's reaction to an article in the American newspaper Stars and Stripes.

Taiwan has earmarked $555 million for four MQ-9B drones in 2022. Previously, it was believed that the maximum price of such a device is about 55-60 million dollars.

“So how much did the drone cost? Can US officials at least answer this simple question?” Zakharova asked on her Telegram channel.

A US drone crashed in the international waters of the Black Sea on March 14. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, he was flying towards the borders of Russia with transponders turned off. Su-27 fighters were launched into the air to identify him. The drone performed a sharp maneuver, fell into a “corkscrew” and fell into the water.
