Concern Uralvagonzavod (UVZ), part of Rostec started the production of the pilot series of the new self-propelled artillery gun (SAO) 2S43 “Malva”.
Tests of the machine will last until the end of 2022. Simultaneously with the testing, production also started.
2S43 “Malva” is a 152mm self-propelled artillery mount based on the wheeled tractor BAZ-6010-027 “Voshchina” with a wheeled 8 × 8 arrangement. Developed by the Russian Central Research Institute “Burevestnik”, as part of the “Sketch” development work.
The first images (drawings) of the system were presented in October 2019, photos – in July 2020. The first images of the new Malva self-propelled gun appeared in 2019. At the Army-2020 forum, the exhibition was presented in a non-public area. The novelty is equipped with a 152 mm 2A64 howitzer. The same is used on “Msta-S” tracked carriages. The howitzer is designed to destroy a variety of targets – from front-line manpower and equipment to close-range tactical nuclear attack weapons at ranges up to 24 km
