Moscow does not see readiness on the part of Kyiv for substantive peace talks, but only “ridiculous” statements, said Dmitry Polyansky, the first deputy permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations.

In an interview with Jackson Hinkle on the Dive podcast, he said that Ukraine does not show absolutely no signs of taking a responsible position in the peace negotiations and that Kiev's demands cannot be taken into account in serious negotiations.

“We have not yet come to that,” Polyansky said, adding that Ukrainian authorities were limiting themselves to political statements about theoretical the possibility of negotiations with Moscow.

According to Poljansky, one of the conditions for Kyiv to start negotiations is the withdrawal of Russian troops from Donbass and Crimea. “This is simply ridiculous,” said the diplomat.

In his opinion, Ukraine is not a contractual partner in connection with which the special military operation will continue.
