Turkey begins issuing long-term residence permits to Crimean Tatars

Turkey began to extradite Crimean Tatars for a long time – term view of residence. This order was issued by Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu, writes Anadolu Agency.

From the beginning of August, the migration service of the Turkish Ministry of the Interior began to grant long-term residence permits to Crimean Tatars. They are thus recognized with the status of “compatriots with Turkish roots”.

Previously, as the agency recalled, this status included Ahis Turks, Uighurs and ethnic Turks from Bulgaria and Greece. Since 2002, 101,995 Ahi Turks and 6,787 Uighurs have acquired Turkish citizenship. Now the Crimean Tatars will not have to fulfill this long-term condition.
