Alexei Gromov, Deputy Chief of the General Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said at Thursday's briefing that the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine include “the establishment of direct physical control”; over Snake Island.
According to Gromov, the Ukrainian army currently controls the island with long-range artillery, missile forces and aircraft.
He also stressed that there is currently no Ukrainian soldier on the island.
Recall that the Russian Ministry of Defense announced earlier that the Russian crew had left the island of Zmeina. The statement emphasized that it was an act of goodwill to show that Russia is not interfering in UN efforts to organize a humanitarian corridor for Ukrainian grain exports.
As a military expert, Captain 1st Position in Reserve Vasily Dandykin noted in a commentary “MK”, in his opinion, in the coming weeks the main direction of movement of Russian troops will be directed to Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, so there is no need to spend energy to defend Zmeinoy. He also stressed that Russia, with the help of the & quot; Bastion & quot; or “ball” from the Crimea will be able to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian forces on the island. In addition, he suggested that there may be some high-level agreements with Turkey that offer mediation in the export of Ukrainian grain.
