The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania announced the decision of the Romanian authorities to reduce the number of employees of the Russian Embassy by 51 employees.
As stated in the statement published on the website of the agency, Romania requested that the number of diplomats and administrative staff of the Russian mission was at a level close to the number of the Romanian embassy in Moscow.
The document states that the Russian ambassador has already been informed of the decision and the 30-day period during which it must be implemented.
Russia should thus dismiss 51 staff: 21 diplomats and 30 technical and administrative staff, leaving 11 diplomats and 29 staff. Moscow has already promised to respond appropriately to this decision.
