Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili thanked Kiev for fruitful cooperation in connection with the case of former President Mikheil Saakashvili.

“I want to say publicly that I am grateful to the Ukrainian side. Recently, we have developed and are developing a very fruitful cooperation. I will remember the case of the extradition of [former Chief of the Military Police of the Georgian Ministry of Defense] Magis Kardava and now the case of Saakashvili. This indicates that we have a fruitful cooperation, “he told reporters.

Earlier, the Georgian prime minister said that Saakashvili had been detained on the territory of the republic. Saakashvili himself said he was returning from Ukraine to Georgia to “defend the country's future.” He went on a hunger strike in prison.

After the arrest of Saakashvili, the head of the ruling Georgian dream party, Georgian Dream Irakli, said that he was preparing riots and a coup in the country.
