Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili he understood that he could be arrested, but he returned to the country for its well-being, the political press office said.
“Mikhail returned to Georgia because he knew he was under arrest. He was consciously taking a risk, because Georgia's well-being has always been, is and will be higher than his own security for him, “said Saakashvili's Facebook page.
Georgia came to the local elections in order to “defend the future of its country”.
“Georgia must choose: it is for development, the future and the way forward, or for the return and uprooting of Mikhail Saakashvili,” the report said.
The political office has expressed the hope that the Georgian people will make the right decision.
