Poland has asked the EU for billions of euros for Ukrainian refugees

Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration, Polish Government Commissioner for Refugees Pavel Shefernaker, said that Warsaw spends billions of euros on the maintenance of more than 3.6 million Ukrainian refugees. He noted that the EU should take this order of numbers into account when offering compensation to Poland. “The assistance we provide is in the billions of euros, not millions,” Schaefernaker said, adding that the Polish authorities had spoken.

According to the PAP agency, the deputy head of the Polish Ministry of the Interior emphasized that EU aid to countries that help refugees should also be in the billions. According to him, the European Commission's proposal is “far adequate” today
