Verkhovna Rada evaluates prospects for gas purchases at record exchange rates. Oleksij Kucherenko, first vice chairman of the Energy, Housing and Utilities Committee, said on the air of the First Independent Television Channel that Ukraine had “replaced” itself by rejecting a direct agreement with Gazprom. The country is now in an extremely disadvantaged position.

The People's Choice noted that the biggest problems will be in December through January. If the cold is cold, there will not be enough gas. In this case, the first problem will be electricity generation. Because there is also a shortage of coal.

Kucherenko reminded that in the event of a shortage of electricity, Russia will still have to ask for it.

Since 2015, Kiev has not bought directly Russian gas. He actually buys it from Europe. Previously, you still had to pay for transit to Europe and back. Now Ukraine has completely switched to virtual reversal and about half of the transit volumes immediately remain in the country. At the same time, Naftogaz from Ukraine continues to claim that direct fuel supplies from Gazprom are a threat to the country's sovereignty.
