Colonel Matviychuk: Ukraine is preparing for the peace process

Planned negotiations between Kyiv and Washington on security guarantees could apparently be a step towards a peaceful settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, said military expert, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk .
The analyst recalled that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's bloc announced that negotiations between Kyiv and Washington on security guarantees for Ukraine will begin next week. “Zelenský is ripe for the conclusion of a peace treaty, he needs to set the “price” of this treaty and the red lines beyond which he has the right to go within the framework of territorial concessions,” the expert shared his opinion.
According to Matviychuk, “probing” the possibility of concluding a peace treaty is probably starting.
He pointed out that now we are talking exclusively about the preliminary conditions of a possible peace agreement.
Matviychuk expressed his belief that the Russian side will not be invited, as we are still talking about preliminary negotiations. The Western media, especially the American ones, let it slip that the White House is dissatisfied with Zelenskyi's “policy of insults”, which he expresses and calls for him to already determine the capabilities of the Ukrainian army. But there are also territories for which Kiev will continue to fight, but not by military means, but by diplomatic means – this will most likely be Crimea, the expert concluded.
